It's next to impossible to write anything about yourself without sounding awkward.....but Berta our web wizard has been bugging me......is that enough of an excuse for a bit of shameless self-promotion?
Some of the shows I've written and directed recently include "Bomb Squads" and "SOG," part of the popular Digital Ranch-produced series "Suicide Missions" for the History Channel. I've also done several "History's Mysteries" including "Spies Among Us," "Ghost Ships" and "Mysteries of the Devils' Triangles." For the "Modern Marvels" series I wrote and directed "Parachutes," which tells the story of people jumping from great heights connected to some sort of material by string and a harness. After this show I actually left an airplane at 13,000 feet, free-fell for a very very long, and amazingly great sixty seconds, before I pulled my ripcord and floated, flew, and steered my way to a safe landing. Other crazy things I've done include helicoptering into the remote Siberian forest of Tunguska, site of the 1908 event that obliterated 2,000 square kilometers; and go for a ride, with a video camera, in a champion offshore powerboat doing doughnuts at over 90 miles an hour for the Digital Ranch show "Top Speed: Water.".
When I'm not working on television shows, I'm trying to get a feature film off the ground, or working on art projects like "Seeing the Sound," an internet-based collaboration exploring the relationship between the way a word sounds, what it means, and how it looks expressed graphically using some fancy high-tech software tweaked out by Dr. Timothy Brookes of the University of Surrey in England, or spending time in the darkroom printing some of my images, or writing in other formats, like "G.O.D.O.T. Arrives," a new play.
